The Apaches

Shadows Tribute Band

Martyn Huskisson

Drummer

Martyn Huskisson

The other founder member of the band

Martyn first played Drums in 1964 with his cousin and they formed a band called The Tempters

they played the Working mens clubs in and around the Wakefield area in 1965 they entered a Talant competition called The Big Beat and they came 2nd.

The first time Girls ever screamed at Martyn was when he played at the ABC Picture house in Wakefield in 1965/1966

The Tempters broke up in 1967 as interests had moved to cars.

It was not until the 90s when Martyn met John and they played together in a band called Freeway a Rock n Roll band. When Freeway broke up Martyn went on to play with two other bands Woodstock and Brass Monkey.

The music these bands played were not Martyn's style at all, and he set out to make it his Fort'e to pester - cajole - harrass - and push John into getting together to form a Shadows tribute band, he succeeded and this was the start of the Apaches.
